Technology and Food Startups

Food startups have to use any technique to give themselves an edge. Technology, when utilized, can really further a startups goals.

A recent startup, called Chirp Farms, is going to be focusing on technology to further its hope of creating bars made of crickets, which are packed with protein. The cofounder has a background in digital product development and plans to take Chirp Farms into the somewhat untouched niche of technology and food.

As part of a global movement to develop technologies that further local food systems, entrepreneurs are creating sensors, software, etc. to help farms sell directly to consumers. Most recently, the movement has had a large focus in Italy – which is unsurprising with its culinary habits.
