Some technological innovations for reducing food waste are new programs. Originally posted on Food+Tech Connect, some of highlights are:

  • FoodStar – It notifies users about farm sales. Users are alerted when a store nearby has flash sales on food or certain products.
  • LoveFoodHateWaste – A UK non-profit organization, LFHW helps users utilize their leftovers by putting in what food they have in the kitchen and what recipes they can make from it.
  • Wise Up on Waste – This program encourages people to request food with less packaging, create less waste and to recycle more.
